How to Add Testimonials to Your Teachable Sales Page
Three ways to put student social proof on your Teachable sales page — from the 5-minute hack to the production-ready setup.
Why testimonials make Teachable sales pages convert
Teachable sales pages are remarkably good at presenting curriculum, instructor bios, and pricing — but they're surprisingly weak at one of the most important conversion levers: third-party proof from real students.
Studies from Nielsen and BrightLocal consistently put peer-reviewed proof at 12–15× more persuasive than first-person marketing claims. For high-ticket courses, that gap is the difference between a $0 launch and a $30k cohort.
The key insight: Teachable students are warm leads who already know you. The hardest work is already done — you just need a way to capture and display their wins.
Option 1: The native Teachable testimonial block
Teachable ships with a basic testimonial block in its sales page editor. To add it:
- Open your course in the Teachable admin
- Go to Pages → Sales Page
- Click Add Block and choose Testimonials
- Manually type or paste each quote, name, and photo
The catch: it's static. You're hand-entering testimonials forever. There's no collection workflow, no moderation queue, no video support, and no way to update without re-editing the page.
Use this if you have 3–5 testimonials and don't plan to grow that number. Skip it if you're running real cohorts.
Option 2: Custom HTML widget
Teachable supports custom HTML blocks on Pro plans and above. You can hand-code a testimonial section with Tailwind or your own CSS. This gives you total visual control — but it also means you're a frontend developer now.
Most course creators try this once, spend a weekend wrestling with mobile responsiveness, and quietly go back to the native block.
Option 3: TestimonialUp embed (recommended)
The third option is to use a tool built specifically for the job. TestimonialUp's Teachable integration handles the full pipeline:
- Collection: a branded request page where students submit a written or video testimonial in 2 minutes
- Moderation: approve, edit, or hide testimonials before they go live
- Embed: a single line of HTML that drops into a Teachable custom HTML block — and updates automatically as new testimonials come in
Setup is about 5 minutes. Once it's running, your sales page testimonials grow on their own.
Where to place testimonials on your Teachable sales page
Don't dump every testimonial into one giant block at the bottom. The pages that convert best distribute proof across the page so that every objection a prospective student raises is met with a counter-quote nearby.
A proven pattern:
- Above the fold: 1 video testimonial + 5-star rating
- After the curriculum: 2–3 written testimonials about specific lessons
- After the price reveal: a testimonial that addresses ROI or "is it worth it"
- Just before the CTA: a wall of 6+ recent testimonials to seal the deal
